A Christmas Dream

“Let Them See Jesus”

Oh how I love Christmas! Everywhere I look, I see the sights, and hear the sounds that make this season so special. Each evening, the moonlit night paints the perfect backdrop for the dazzling array of color that abounds throughout the city. Downtown at night is aglow with a rainbow of twinkling lights reflecting off the fresh-fallen powdered snow. Such is the spectacle that dreams are made of.

My dream… is that the world might understand that Jesus is the true light of Christmas! Joseph learned of that light when the Lord appeared to him in a dream saying “... that which is conceived of Mary is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.” Matt. 2:20-21. My dream…is that just as the lights of the season shine brightly, our lights will so shine that men and women, boys and girls will see JESUS illuminated before them, in all His Glory! Let them see the darkness that is sin, and the light of salvation that is JESUS.

Why God has chosen to use us to reflect His light to a sin darkened world, I don’t know. Why He has scattered us, as the twinkling Christmas lights into the dark corners of His own creation, I’ll never understand. Nevertheless, we must shine wherever God has placed us, so men might see JESUS!

Let them see how we love one another! Let them see how we care for them! Let them see how Christ has changed our lives, our priorities, as well as our eternal direction!

In John 8:12 Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." Let us shine, so many will come out of the darkness and into His marvelous light… the light of Christ…in whom dreams do come true!
