The Light of Christmas

They dazzle our eyes! Brilliant color, illuminating the darkness. Neighborhoods everywhere sparkle and shimmer with an awesome display of beauty and light, which once again ushers in the Christmas season. Christmas without lights, wouldn’t seem like Christmas at all.

There is however a light shining this Christmas season that the world has chosen not to see. A light proclaimed by John when he declared that “Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light .......” John 3:19. A light rejected by many, but still shining for all to embrace. The greatest gift God has offered us this Christmas season, is the light of His Son, Jesus Christ. In John 8:12 Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Has the “Light of Christmas”, Jesus Christ, pierced the darkness of your heart? Is He the “Eternal Lord” sitting on the throne of your life and heart, or is he just one of the glittering ornaments that decorates our lives only on special occasions? As we submit to His authority, follow His leading, and yield to His will, we begin to walk in the light, and cease stumbling through a world covered by darkness.

When we allow Jesus Christ to become Lord, the Christ of Christmas begins to shine in our life. Only Jesus can bring light to the darkness of despair. Only Jesus can bring light when our hopes dim, dreams fade, and we seem to lose our way. Only Jesus can bring light to a world that marvels at twinkling lights that only last a season, and rejects The Light that shines for eternity. This Christmas season, are you dazzled by the “Eternal Light” that leads to Eternal Life? He’s still shining in a dark world. Is He shining in you?

We’ll Walk in The Light
Beautiful Light.........
Jesus, the Light of the World
